Dr Nishikitani is a public health professional recognized by the Japanese Society of Public Health. She received her B.S. and M.S. in Food Science, and her PhD in Social Medicine. Throughout her career, her primary research interest was Occupational Health, mainly occupational injury, overtime work, workers’ stress and mental health, women’s health, and security system for workers. Currently, she is focused on the intersection between occupational and global health, including poverty, gender problems, and social disparity based on social systems. Dr Nishikitani serves on the faculty of the Institute of Decision Science for Sustainable Society at Kyushu University. The Institute is a leading project of the graduate school implemented by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. In her role, she manages Health Module faculty members, and develops strategies to educate selected students in this leading program through the field experience in Global health.
